The 2010 PAHRO Conference focused on the issue of violent crime in South Africa and aimed to stimulate multi-disciplinary dialogue on a crucial issue that cuts across the fabric of society, debating the nature of violent crime, the responsibility of the State to protect its citizens and the effect of violent crime on communities in Cape Town.

On the 5th and 6th August 2011 some of our volunteers attended and supported Free Gender in hosting their first conference which aimed to raise awareness of corrective rape with the police as well as give victims affected by corrective rape the opportunity to share their stories. Here is one volunteer's account of the two days.
